Tillington v Lavant

Lavant held on for the draw after Tillington’s opening batsmen Nathan Kemp (154) and Dan Thiselton (105) both scored centuries to smash the Tillington record for the best partnership, which now stands at 225.

The middle order came in to push the score to 316 for four after Ian Rawnsley (2-83) and R Wignall (2-102) for Lavant picked up two wickets apiece.

Patrick Cowell (2-12) got two early wickets for Tillington, supported by Bruce Wickham (2-25), but strong resistance from P Berkeley (46) and Rawnsley (71) ensured Lavant held out for the draw, despite a late flurry of wickets leaving them 175 for eight.

Lynchmere v Ebernoe

Ebernoe started on top, restricting Lynchmere to 100 for eight, before a ninth-wicket partnership of 55 helped the hosts to 167 for nine at the end of the innings. G Williams bowled well taking four for 47.

In reply, M Fauvet top scored with 35, but B Dudley took a five-wicket haul leaving Ebernoe hanging on at 125 for eight to secure the draw.

Ashling v Stansted Park

Invited to bat first on a damp and sticky wicket, Ashling quickly subsided to 21 for four. A fiery 23 from Pistol Pete Smith, supported by debutant Tom Diver (18) and Adam Shaul (13), allowed the home side to reach 108 all out.

Prittipaul’s two for five and Thomas’ three for 12 were the highlights of the visitors’ bowling performance.

Wickets fell steadily as Stansted chased down the modest target. Henry Slatter (3-15) had the upper order in trouble with only Prittipaul (22) establishing himself.

Late bowling spells from Nic Loubser (2-6) and Steve Harvey (3-14) saw Stansted all out for 81 completing an unlikely victory for Ashling.

Bognor Rebels Sunday XI v Barns Green

Barns Green elected to field on a fine day and this looked a good decision as Louis Paul was bowled for a second-ball duck. However, vice-captain Mikey Harris and the sprightly Josh Broad had other ideas. With the impish Harris cutting and nurdling and Broad clubbing and punching, the pair formed a 193-run second-wicket partnership.

With Harris out for 88, Broad was caught on 98, a fine innings cruelly ended. Jamie Woolnough (18) and Mark Hood (16) saw Bognor up to 241 for six from their 40 overs, Dave Mulee the pick of Green’s attack with three for 25.

With veteran Jon Denby and young Alex Burford keeping their lines tight, Barns Green began steadily, Denby taking one for 27 and Burford one for 21.

Jamie Woolnough had the dangerous Tom Haynes caught superbly by young Burford for 28. With Paul taking two for 27, the advantage was with Bognor.

Barns Green’s Danny Conway struck a vicious 67 but after he was bowled by a quicker ball from Woolnough (2-45) the game was pushed Bognor’s way. With Broad taking three for 5, Barns Green were bowled out for 176.

Salthill were without a Hampshire League regional two south game when Bedhampton cried off.
