Away from cricket Murray was a much respected character in Walberton who loved to chat to local people from his favoured positions both inside and outside the Village Pub, The Holly Tree. He will be hugely missed by his many friends.

The match itself was a entertaining one watched by a goodly number of spectators. Batting first Watersfield made 179 for 4 off 30 overs with Walberton replying with 140 for 9, with Rao Raj (52) and Richard Lockwood (33) the main scorers.
