FA Vase: Mixed fortunes for local trio

Pagham are through to the next round of the FA Vase, while Chichester City must travel to South Park for a replay after a thriller '“ but Selsey are out.

The Lions are the only local side definitely in the second qualifying round after overcoming Frimley Green 1-0 at Nyetimber Lane.

They will visit Horley or Erith in the first round.

Brett Forden scored the only goal after 16 minutes.

Chichester go to South Park in midweek after a thrilling 4-4 draw at Oaklands Park which went to extra time. The winners will be away to Peacehaven in round one, which takes place on October 3.

But there was no more knockout for Selsey at the end of a week in which they have progressed to the second qualifying round of the FA Cup.

Ross Woolf twice put them ahead at Camberley but it was 2-2 after 90 minutes and the Surrey side won it with another goal in the extra 30.

Also in cup action were Midhurst, but their woeful start to 2009-10 continued with a 7-0 loss in the county division two cup at Westfield.

Bosham and Sidlesham were both without games in division three.
