Chichester make two-player advantage count at East Preston

East Preston & Littlehampton Ladies started with only nine players and were defending well and playing long balls - but it was Chichester ladies' second team who prevailed in the end with a 5-2 win.

This tactic paid off early on as they took a 1-0 lead after five minutes. This shocked Chichester and they slowly began to start playing football.

Pressure forced a corner from which Kerri Grant found Natalie Spencer at the far post and she slotted home.

Grant, who was to be named woman of the match, found the top corner with a fine strike from the edge of the box to make it 2-1 to Chichester.

East Preston & Littlehampton were still playing the long-ball game and Chichester’s control was letting them down at times, but neat passing and a nice finish Littlehampton earned an equaliser.

After the break Chichester decided it was time to play their passing game and it was too much for East Preston & Littlehampton as Chichester netted twice within five minutes of the re-start, with Spencer and Grant each getting their second.

Natasha Knowles finished well from close range to make it 5-2 to Chichester. The game looked over but with a Chichester player getting sent off with 25 minutes to go, East Preston had an incentive to attack – only for the Chichester defence to hold firm and gain the three points.
