In a home tie against Winchester in front of a large crowd at Oaklands Park, goals in the first 20 minutes from Chloe Dowdell and Charelle Khassel set the tone and an impudent finish from Dowdell on half-time put the home side in total control.

The second period saw Lauren Cheshire miss a sitter after being set up by Shannon Albuery down the right. Jess Lewry shot from long distance past replacement keeper Charlie Snelling.

Dowdell could have netted a third but the result and team performance delighted City manager Liam Greenfield.

Sunday brought a trip to face Crawley Wasps. The game was played in sessions of 30 minutes, allowing development players and first-team regulars to get a good run-out.

Within a minute Albuery put the Green Army in front. Dowdell was at the heart of the swift move and set up her strike partner for a simple finish.

The lead was doubled by a header from Jade Widdows after Amy Found put a delicious cross into the box. Two minutes later Widdows had her second after latching on to a through-ball from Albuery.

In the second session the development players appeared. For Crawley, Rosanne Fine had several chances saved by Sally-Anne Thompson.

New girl Terri Foster blasted in from the edge of the area having been set up by Jess Lewry. Albuery got her second of the afternoon showing exquisite touch.

In the third and fourth sessions, Chichester added two more goals. Albuery wrapped up her hat-trick and after Fine got her name on the scoresheet for Crawley, the final say was left to Lauren Cheshire, who produced a cheeky chip over the keeper to take Chichester’s overall tally to seven.
