Crawley to visit Oxford United in opening fixture

Crawley Town will kick-off life back in League Two with an away trip to Oxford United on the opening day of the 2015-16 campaign.

The new season fixtures were released this morning and Reds travel to the Kassam Stadium on Saturday, August 8.

Reds fans can look forward to possible full houses at the Checkatrade.com Stadium in their two opening home games which are both local derbies when they host AFC Wimbledon on Saturday, August 15 and then Portsmouth on the following Tuesday (August 18).

Mark Yates’ side face fellow relegated side Notts County away on Saturday, September 5 and Yeovil Town at home two weeks later.

Their first meeting with the third relegated side Leyton Orient is on Saturday, October 10 at the Checkatrade.com Stadium.

Reds’ will welcome former Spurs striker Teddy Sheringham’s new side Stevenage in their Boxing Day derby clash, while they are away at Portsmouth on Saturday, January 2.

Crawley will end their League Two campaign at home on Saturday, May 7 against Barnet.
