Murray got the only goal midway through the second half to move the Seagulls nine points clear of third-placed Huddersfield. The striker controlled Anthony Knockaert's header down from Liam Rosenior's cross and then flicked the ball home from close range for his 19th goal of the season.

Hunemeier said: "If you look at the goal, it's pure class. He doesn't have much time to produce something and he did really well.

"I've spoken to him and he hasn't seen it yet but it was a brilliant finish, with two quick touches and that's what Muzza is capable of.

"We always know when we keep a clean sheet that we can score a goal. We had to defend really hard today, not just the back four, the midfielders and strikers as well and it's always nice to get a clean sheet."

Hunemeier played for the fourth successive match, after Shane Duffy broke a metatarsal, and said: "It wouldn't be that nice if you're getting promoted and you haven't played a match, so right now I'm enjoying myself, being on the pitch and being a big part of the team.

"Of course, I'd be really happy if we get promoted and it would be really special for us."
