THE UNIVERSITY of Chichester’s first team drew 2-2 with Bath uni to go top of their league.

They started brightly but against the run of play, Bath capitalised from Chi’s failure to clear the ball away from a corner and went 1-0 ahead.

It was a tough task to get back into the game, but Ryan Bell launched an inch-perfect cross into Tom Atkinson who guided the ball into the net to make it 1-1.

The second half was even with both sides having chances but Bath made the first move and went 2-1 up.

Almost immediately Chichester levelled with good play from Bell, Dan Kempson and Ricky Gardner.

It was a great game of uni football and a decent draw for both sides. Chichester go top of the table.

It was cup week for most of the University of Chichester’s other football teams – and most of them ended up on the losing side.

The seconds lost 1-0 to St Mary’s, the thirds were edged out on penalties, the fives lost 8-0.

The sixth team pulled off a great 6-0 win over a strong fourth team at Surrey uni. They go through to the last 16 in a couple of weeks.
