Ex-Liverpool star joins up with Natures Way football team

Natures Way Foods’ in-house football team Natures Way Wanderers are taking part in a five-a-Side Football Legends tournament today (March 21) to raise money for Cancer Research UK.

It is organised by Tesco and being held in Manchester. The team from the well-known Selsey firm will play alongside veteran celebrity footballer Gary McAllister, formerly of Liverpool, Leicester and Everton, and against a host of other companies and famous football legends.

Led by Natures Way Foods’ local factory manager, Paul Hiscock, who plays in goal, the Wanderers other team members are Brett Greenhalf, Ben Blanshard and James Ash, who all play for Bosham in the West Sussex League, Matt Hill and Paul Ryan.

Hiscock said: “We’re really looking forward to taking on Tesco and the other teams, and are really excited to be playing with Gary McAllister and other football legends.

“Our team are strong and we feel confident we can go all the way in this tournament. Our colleagues, families and friends are fully behind us and this is a great way to raise money for Cancer Research UK.”

The tournament is being held at the Soccerdome, Trafford Park and ex-pros due to feature include Dion Dublin, Chris Kamara, Paul Walsh, Matt Holland, Chris Waddle, Ian Taylor, Lee Sharpe, Michael Gray, Kevin Kilbane, Peter Beagrie, Chris Sutton and Keith Gillespie.

All money raised from the event will be donated to Cancer Research UK.
