Rocks goalie and manager among award-winners

AS IF reaching the last eight of the FA Trophy wasn’t enough for one week, the Rocks picked up their of their league’s monthly awards in one swoop.

Immediately after the impressive 0-0 draw in the first tussle with Sutton, the Rocks were delighted to learn they had received the trio of prizes for their performances in January.

Goalkeeper Grant Smith won the Precision GK monthly award for keeper of the month and will receive a set of goalkeeping gloves from the sponsors.

Manager Jamie Howell justifiably won the manager-of-the-month award and will receive a new suit from sponsors Nicholas Rowe Tailoring.

In addition, the whole team won the Macron Sportswear team performance award for their superb run in January. The month saw six games and six wins, four in the Ryman premier and one each in the FA Trophy and Sussex Senior Cup.

The highlight was the 2-1 Trophy victory against National League premier outfit Altrincham.
