MIDHURST were unable to recover from their defeat to Southwick as they were beaten 4-1 at home to Storrington in division two of the Sussex League.
The home fans were apprehensive when, with 12 minutes gone, Mark O’Regan found it easy to steer the ball past Scott Lillywhite in the Midhurst goal.
Manager Trevor Waller was without several of his senior players and it showed as Storrington found it easy to counter their style of play.
But after half an hour, Midhurst were level as recent signing Dean Platt received a good pass from Mark Trinder and headed past Gary Elliott in the Storrington goal.
Liam Dreckman drove in a fierce shot which spun off the post and back into play.
But within five minutes of the restart, Storrington went ahead as James Davis took a free-kick which struck the post and rebounded in.
Confusion in the Midhurst defence gave Kristian Harding an opening and he netted goal number three.
With ten minutes left, Tom Pickford got Storrington’s fourth.
This Saturday Midhurst visit Littlehampton.
