As the footballing family came together to celebrate the memory of Shoreham air disaster victims Matt Grimstone and Jacob Schilt, the under-14s of Barnham Trojans and a Sussex League representative XI staged a fundraising game to pay tribute and raise money in memory of the Worthing United duo.

A very strong Sussex team ran out 5-3 winners with goals from Kamil and Benfell, while Parker, Tuck and Roberts provided vital assists.

Barnham replied with a Ratcliffe penalty after Allen’s brilliance and a typical Brady double – the first after outstanding work from Britton.

Jelley, Nicholls and Claydon were all superb.

But the most memorable moment was the minute’s silence, impeccably observed by players, parents and fans.
