THE ROCKS are ready for two games in three days which could prove a springboard for a play-off push.

In two games against sides close to them in mid-table, they host Billericay on Saturday and visit Kingstonian on Monday night.

A decent return could put Bognor within a few points of the play-off zone and dent the hopes of two of their rivals, while poor results would leave them with a lot to do over the final third of the season to make the top five.

They go into the double-header with no new injury worries and with one or two niggles having had an extra week to clear up following the postponement of last Saturday’s planned trip to East Thurrock.

The visit to Essex fell victim to heavy rain on Friday night and manager Jamie Howell said he was not too worried about the call-off.

“We’d won our previous game and although it would have been nice had we played and got a second straight away game, it wasn’t a major problem having it called off,” he said.

“We trained on Saturday and are now nicely refreshed and looking forward to this week’s games. Everyone is fit, bar those who we’ve been without for a while, and we go into these matches knowing we’ve been playing well.”

Striker Jason Prior, on loan from Margate for the rest of the season, is over a leg injury that forced him off early during the win at VCD 12 days ago.

That means Howell could stick with the attacking formation of Prior and Ollie Pearce up front, supported by Alex Parsons and Stuart Green.

But to add to the competition for places up front, fans’ favourite Terry Dodd has rejoined the Rocks.

On the sidelines, winger Ben Johnson is due to see a consultant on February 9 over a knee problem. Two days later, right-back Paul Hinshelwood is due to have a knee op.

Left-back Daryl Wollers is gradually stepping up his training regime as he recovers from hip surgery.
