Rocks manager Jamie Howell felt his players had shown both sides of their game in beating promotion rivals Leiston 1-0 under the Nyewood Lane floodlights.
Jimmy Wild’s superb strike in the first half was all that separated the teams – and after an attacking display before the break it was all about the defending for Bognor in the second period.
Leiston put them under massive pressure as the game went on but, led by man of the match Gary Charman, the backline held out and the points were the Rocks.
Howell was delighted with the win that kept the Rocks four points clear at the top of the Ryman premier but said: “We’re not getting carried away.”
