The second Fans’ Day will be held on Saturday, July 20.

And organiser Tom Dearie has pledged it will be ‘bigger and better’ than its successful predecessor.

The maiden Fans’ Day was held in May 2011 and raised almost £5,000, which was split between the Tom Prince Cancer Trust and Pompey in the Community.

Now Dearie and his group of volunteers are bringing the occasion back on the day of the Fratton Park friendly against Charlton.

This time four charities are being supported, with the aim of raising £10,000.

Taking place from 11am-2pm, this year’s event will once again take place in the car park behind the Fratton end.

A specially-built stage will be constructed and host various live music acts, including Trust band The Dickensian Vagabonds.

It will also see the launch of Pompey’s new second strip, with the kit on sale from a Sondico stand.

There will also be a bouncy castle, rides for kids, a beer tent, face painting, sumo football food stalls and a raffle – with prizes including two season tickets.

In addition, there will be a kids football competition consisting of a crossbar challenge, fastest shot and penalty shoot-out.
