Judge: Unlucky Pompey saw us at our very best

Notts County reserved their best for Pompey, according to star midfielder Alan Judge.

The diminutive Irishman was the star of the show for the Magpies in their 3-0 humbling of Michael Appleton’s side.

He scored one and created the other two as Keith Curle’s promotion-chasers secured their third home win of the season.

The victory followed an impressive performance at MK Dons last Tuesday night, where County held their fellow promotion contenders to a draw.

But Judge believes their 90-minute showing against Pompey topped their display at Stadium MK and makes them League One title heavyweights.

‘I would have to say myself that Saturday was the best we’ve played all season,’ he said.

‘We would have said MK Dons in the first half there, but I thought that we just overran Pompey.

‘We’ve shown that we’re contenders, but all the lads are enjoying the pressure that’s on us.

‘We’ve just got to keep up what we’re doing. Hopefully we’ll see the rewards at the end of the season.’
