ADAM WEBSTER is back in action as Pompey Reserves take on Leyton Orient today (2pm).

The defender was left out of the Blues’ 18-man squad who suffered defeat at AFC Wimbledon at the weekend, despite starting the previous match.

Webster endured an unhappy time in that 2-2 draw against Cheltenham for what was a first start since January.

Now he will line-up as part of Paul Hardyman’s experienced reserve side taking on Orient today at Furze Lane.

He will be joined by Johnny Ertl, also left out of the squad at Kingsmeadow with Awford electing to recall Ben Chorley and present a debut to Nyron Nosworthy in the central defensive areas.

Elsewhere, David Cornell will make his first Blues appearance following his loan arrival from Swansea.

The Wales under-21 international continues to deputise for Michael Poke, who remains on the sidelines with a back injury.

The starting line-up includes six of the seven substitutes at Wimbledon, with Dan Butler the sole player not called upon.

That means appearances for Josh Passley, Paul McCallum, Wes Fogden, Nigel Atangana, Craig Westcarr and Cornell.

Ben Close, along with Pompey Academy youngsters Brandon Haunstrup and James Granger, complete the team.

However, there is no place for Nicky Shorey, who has been out of the first-team picture since January.

The veteran left-back did, however, play in the reserves’ 6-1 hammering of Gillingham last week.

Tom Craddock has returned to full training following a blip in his comeback from injury.

But he is not yet ready to be risked in a match situation.

In addition, Conor Chaplin, who netted a hat-trick for the Academy against MK Dons at the weekend, is rested for the fixture.

As is Bradley Tarbuck, who has been dividing his time between Pompey and a successful loan spell at Dorchester.

POMPEY RESERVES: Cornell, Granger, Ertl, Webster, Passley, Close, Atangana, Haunstrup, Fogden, McCallum, Westcarr. Subs: Bass, May, Davies, Joseph-Buadi
