Selsey FC manager leaves by ‘mutual consent’

Selsey Football Club have parted ways with manager Ian Martin just a month into the new season.

He has been replaced by former Brighton defender Adam Hinshelwood who is looking to get into management following his retirement from professional football last summer due to a serious knee injury.

Club chairman David Lee said; “Selsey Football Club have today agreed by mutual consent with their first team manager Ian Martin to relieve him of his managerial duties at the club.

“On behalf of the club and committee we would like to thank Ian for his services over many years and we wish him all the best for the future.

“The club have taken immediate action in view of their FA Cup fixture away to Erith and Belvedere on Sunday by appointing former Brighton and England under-21 player Adam Hinshelwood as the new club manager.”

27-year-old Hinshelwood was forced to retire after the injury in pre-season training with League Two side Wycombe Wanderers. He also spent time at Aldershot Town.
