The 17-year-old was presented with his award by FA council member Tony Kybett at an awards evening at the Sussex FA HQ.

Weller has made a significant contribution to the development of Selsey FC under-13 girls’ team, where the number of players has doubled. He volunteers at Fulham Football Foundation, attending Saturday-morning training sessions in Merton and at Fulham’s Motspur Park training ground. Through his involvement, he has been able to attend training sessions run by members of the England under-21 coaching team and he can use knowledge gained to good effect at Selsey.

Weller helped organise the Sussex FA football futures camp. He is also an FA-qualified referee and has supported new referees within the club as well as refereeing for his college and in the local leagues.

The award winners, who have been recognised for their commitment to grassroots football, were selected by a panel of Sussex FA representatives.
