Seven up for Selsey - and Hinshelwood is delighted

ADAM HINSHELWOOD heaped praise on his improving squad for stringing together five wins in a row since they were hammered at Rye.

In the past week they have shown how far they have come with back-to-back wins on the road - 3-0 at East Grinstead and 4-0 at Shoreham.

At East Grinstead, Habeeb Aloa put them ahead on 19 minutes before Max Thoms wrapped up the points with goals in the 35th and 65th minutes.

Thoms made it four goals in two – and seven in four – with another double in Tuesday’s 4-0 romp at Shoreham.

Aloa got another and Rob Wimble, the former Pagham forward who Hinshelwood has recruited from Arundel, scored the other.

The run of victories has lifted Selsey to 14th and they hope to continue the climb when they visit Ringmer on Saturday and host Lancing on Tuesday.

Hinshelwood said: “We’ve made improvements week on week and the players have adapted well to a new formation. East Grinstead and Shoreham are tricky places to go.”

Hinshelwood said the whole squad had played a part in the recent success, which was all the more rewarding in light of the loss at Rye.
