The award considers the number of intra and inter-school competitions held and the sporting opportunities for all key stage two pupils. It also looks at the involvement of pupils in the planning, leading and officiating side of sport.

Sports events for 2013-14 included netball, fencing, sportshall athletics, skipping, judo, triathlon, running, swimming, fencing, cricket, windsurfing, stand-up paddleboarding and surfing.

Proud head teacher Sue O’Boyle said: “The additional government funding for PE has supported us in achieving this award. Being able to afford to employ a part-time sports assistant, Tina Turner, has helped take the organisational pressure off our very busy and hard-working staff and enabled the pupils to more fully engage in local sporting events.”
