Pagham Youth 6 Felpham Colts 1

After a five minute hat-trick by Pagham’s Jack Barnes in the first eight minutes, the writing was on the wall for Felpham Colts.

However, a combination of Pagham relaxing and a tactical change by the Felpham manager meant a more evenly-matched middle portion of the game, with Josh Davis pulling one back for Felpham before half-time.

Summerley’s new signings were playing together for the first time and they helped their side to a comfortable win against Bosham.

Bosham threatened only occasionally on the counter, with Summerley making the opposition keeper work hard, especially in the second half. A man-of-the-match performance from Hand countered any threat from the Bosham midfield. Anything that got through was dealt with by the impressive Terry at the heart of the defence.

Two of the new signings got on the scoresheet, with a scorcher of a free-kick from Hawker and Crouch following up on a Mepham shot.

The Colts progressed to the next round of the cup with a solid win.

In a fairly even first half, the Colts created more opportunities with Graham and Hogben going close before good work from Cody allowed Hogben to nod home at the far post. Reedman and Smyth kept the visitors at bay until a slight lapse allowed Ferring to equalise.

Colts upped the tempo in the second half and pressure from White allowed Jack Graham to regain the lead for home side.

Cody made it 3-1 controlling a long throw from debutant George Collins before another lapse allowed Ferring to reduce the deficit. Cody scored two more to complete an excellent hat-trick before Ferring grabbed a late consolation. Cheeseman performed admirably in goal.

COLTS: Cheeseman, Stremes, Reedman, Smyth, Hobbs, Hogben, Herrington, Collins, Cody, Shishkov, Graham, Smith, Gallop, White.

Whyke were raring to to go but having just been promoted, they knew it was going to be a difficult start.

Felpham went in front but Whyke went 2-1 up with goals from Jack Parkinson and Sam Parkin. Each team exchanged goals, with Felpham going in at half-time 5-4 up.

Parkinson, having got his hat-trick for Whyke, was influential in the second half, but Felpham scored again to go 6-4 in front.

Whyke rallied with late goals from Afie Johnson and Parkin to grab a 6-6 draw.

Credit goes to both teams for a fantastic game of football.

Worthing Minors Youth 1 Felpham Colts 0

Felpham Colts travelled to Worthing for a Challenge Cup first-round match but despite a strong wind behind them in the first half, Felpham struggled to break down a strong defence.

After a goalless first half, the second half started brightly for Felpham with Luke Hubbard coming on into midfield and making good runs. Luke Dent made his debut for the Colts and settled in well.

With ten minutes left Worthing broke away from a throw-in and scored. The Minors keeper made a great save with time running out to send them through.

After that Predators turned on the style. Birmingham made it 2-1 before Budge hit a screamer from 20 yards. In the second half it was 4-1 when Judd hit a shot from 15 yards. McVitie made it five before Budge wrapped it up. Man of the match was Bellows.
