The popular scheme has been running since 2000 and is the community’s opportunity to recognise the hard work of rising sports stars across the district, plus the coaches and volunteers who help them reach their goals.

The awards are run by Chichester District Council with backing from the Observer Series and Chichester Priory Rotary Club and over the past 15 years they have recognised thousands of young people from a wide variety of sports.

Not only do the awards celebrate the achievement of those competing at an international level, but also those that are just starting out with a sport, but whose commitment and attitude is worthy of recognition.

The awards are also an opportunity to acknowledge all the hard work, effort and commitment put into local sporting activities by all those unsung heroes – volunteers and coaches that put a huge amount of time and energy into enabling youth sport to flourish across our community.

The 2015 Chichester District Youth Sport Achievement Awards scheme will be officially launched in mid-January – look out for full details in the Observer and on this website very soon.
