The ladies event culminated in a final between two Kent players, Julie Edwards defeating Lauren Stacey 3-1.

Losing semi-finalists were Sussex pair Lucy Cunningham and Julia Saldanha.

But success came for Sussex in the plate, won by local BDO player Hills. He beat Snodland Dynamos player Nick Buckingham 2-1 in a tense final.

Organisers from the Crawley Monday Darts League paid out more than £1,000 in prize money.

Adi Linfield, playing for Eastgate, looks a dark horse to take the captain’s cup.

Following his win over leader James Greenfield, Linfield went on to beat another top contender, Andy Whitely. Linfield will look to complete the treble versus second-placed The Wheatsheaf in a couple of weeks. A win would set him up with a strong chance to pinch the title in the closing stages especially as the top two, The Wheatsheaf and Richmond, go head to head this week.

Super League

Littlehampton A beat Littlehampton Locals in the Sussex Super League. The title-chasing A side romped home 8-1 winners, the As losing the last game. The As had two new signings - Bognor players Mick Rowland and Nick Spicer, with Rowland making his league debut.
