Bognor Rugby Club have congratulated 18-year-old Jack Hornibrook on achieving the RFU gold award.

He has shown a real commitment to rugby over the past two years that has gone above and beyond playing for Bognor.

His enthusiasm for the game has seen him qualify as a referee, volunteering regularly at Bognor RFC as well as school tournaments across Sussex. Hornibrook has also spent many hours helping to coach younger players and has completed various coaching courses, banking well over 150 volunteer hours.

He recieved the award at a Sussex RFU evening from Mick Orton, RFU community coach for Sussex, and Mal Chumbley, rugby development officer for Sussex, both of whom were extremely impressed by his effort and commitment to the game.

Bognor look forward to the coming season with Hornibrook taking on the challenge of helping to coach the under-13s as well as playing his first season in the senior team.

The season for children aged six to 18 will start on Sunday, September 8, from 10am to midday. They welcome all ages and abilities - just go along and give it a go.
