Local pair celebrate as first round of Vase beckons

PAGHAM and Chichester City are in the first round proper of the FA Vase.

Their Wembley dreams continued as they overcame second qualifying round opponents, City after a replay.

Pagham will go to Erith & Belvedere after a 1-0 win over Frimley Green.

Chichester will visit Peacehaven, but needed a replay after a 4-4 home draw with South Park.

Adie Girdler's team comfortably beat South Park 4-0 in an ill-tempered replay on Tuesday night.

Shawn Benjamin opened the scoring with a glancing near-post header from a Joe Briggs corner after 15 minutes.

In the first few minutes of the second half, a short free-kick between Briggs and Moore set up James Archer to score from eight yards, then Brockway made it 3-0 by smashing home a Briggs cross.

Chichester captain Lee Mullen was sent off for kicking out at an opponent on the hour, but the home side were also reduced to ten men when Stone was carried off injured with no subs remaining.

Callum Cutler won and converted a penalty with five minutes left and South Park finished with nine men as Lavery was dismissed for a lunge on James Ford.
