Midhurst girl is a swimming star of the future

Lilly Cherriman, a Year 6 pupil at Conifers School, Midhurst, is being marked down as a swimming star of the future.

She is the winner of coveted gold and silver medals from the Sussex county swimming challenge.

The ten-year-old (right) beat four personal bests in different strokes at the county’s competition in the Prince Regent pool, Brighton.

As part of a Horsham-based team called Atlantis, her medal wins helped put her team second overall. Her gold medal win was for breaststroke and silver for freestyle.

Lucy Bourne, sports coach at Conifers said: “We are incredibly proud of Lilly and her outstanding swimming ability. She is a dedicated all-round athlete and an asset to the school.”
