PHIL ‘THE POWER’ Taylor watch out – Harry ‘The Force’ Annals is after your darts crown.

The 14-year-old Felpham ace has his sights on getting in the world’s top ten within the next decade.

And if his progress in the sport to date is anything to go by, he might just reach his target.

Harry has been playing seriously only for a couple of years but, despite his tender years, is a key player with the Sussex youth set-up – for whom he has suffered only one defeat in the past year – and is involved in Sussex Super League action.

He also has a string of youth open titles to his name and is firmly-established in the darts team at The Wheatsheaf in Bognor. Darts occupies him up to five evenings a week.

Harry said: “I got interested in darts through watching on TV. I used to watch players like Phil Taylor and wanted to try.

“I suppose I’ve done quite well. I’ve had a few 180s and just want to carry on playing and see how far I can go. My aim is to be in the top ten in the next ten years.

“I’ll have to keep playing extremely well to do that but it’s good to have a target.”

The Felpham Community College pupil made big progress with his darts while affiliated to the Unicorn Petersfield Darts Academy, which aims to take the sport to a new generation of players. That led to a link-up with Unicorn’s Generation 180 organisation, who, through sponsorship, supply him with tailor-made darts and everything else he needs.

Last year Harry reached the quarter-finals of the Youth England Open. He’s also won youth opens at Roffey and Worthing.

Mum Jackie said: “I can remember when he first said he wanted to play darts. We bought him a little board and he took to it immeidately. He hasn’t looked back since and we’re proud of what he’s achieved.”
