The beginning of a busy month for Bognor Swimming Club started with a competition in Aldershot featuring 15-year-old Abbie Turner, Tom Hogg (12), Katie White (10).
Turner won one gold, three silver and one bronze, Hogg won three silver and two bronze and White took four gold medals.
The following weekend the Bognor club championships were held at Arun Leisure Centre, open to all club swimmers.
The eight-and-under swimmers swam 25m of each stroke. The ten-and-unders swam 50m of each with 100m individual medley.
For the 11-and-over swimmers it was 100m of each stroke with a 200m individual medley.
There were personal bests from the majority of the swimmers, with Katie White breaking the club record in the nine-to-tens’ 50m freestyle in a time of 34.20s.
It was a successful and fun evening.
In the last open meet of the year, three Bognor swimmers – Abbie Turner, Alys Turner (13) and Katie White – went to Southampton. Abbie won two silver and one bronze. Alys got three personal bests and White won two silver medals, finishing off a very successful month for Bognor swimmers.
