Just before the Bognor Double In Double Out League’s Christmas break came the trebles knockout.

In division one, the early rounds saw some ton-plus in-shots and even a 180, but these players still only just made it through.

The first semi-final saw Cliff Prior, Craig Stoner and Nick Hales from The Claremont take on the Barny Army from The Old Barn, Ashley Clements, Richard Pennells and Matt Shoebridge.

The top team in the league, The Claremont trio, had a fright or two, but made it through to the final.

The second semi was between three more players from The Old Barn, Lee Clark, Andy Kilvington and Stuart Gray, and another trio from The Claremont, Lee Franklin, Nathan Warren and Gary Blackwood. Franklin, Warren and Blackwood got through to the final.

In division two, eight trebles turned up. The first round saw a few amazing matches, one of which saw the Neptune Selsey team miss countless doubles to win 2-0 and eventually lose.

The first semi-final saw the Richmond Raiders - Ian Hackett, Roger Hackett and Pete Blackman - face former team-mate Bradley Marshall plus Ben Todd and Mary-Jane Todd from the BRSA Ravens. Hackett, Hackett and Blackman took the doubles and progress to the final.

The second semi saw three more Richmond Raiders - Colin Ragless, Pete Mitchell and Karen Wilson - take on Alex Norgett, Steve Aizlewood and Lewis Campling from the Newtown SC.

Norgett was a losing finalist last year and took out Aizlewood and Campling in the semi-finals, but after teaming with them this year his team just had too much for the Raiders trio.

Finals night is at the end of the season.

Matches restart on January 7. Full results can be found on www.bognor-darts.co.uk
