TWO Lavant House netball squads travelled to The Regis School for the annual West Sussex West netball tournaments. Their sixth-form team started strongly by beating last year’s winners Bishop Luffa 9-2.

Lavant House’s next opponents were The Regis School, whom they beat 12-3, before they made it three wins from three defeating St Philip Howard 7-0.

Lavant House faced Chichester High School for Girls, who’d also won all their games, in their final match.

Sure enough, Lavant House proved too strong for CHSG and won 8-2 to be crowned winners.

The team were thrilled with their achievement and their new trophy and congratulations go to Lucy Dear (captain), Izzy Darton, Alice Lane, Leah Deeney, Sophie Deller, Pip Rainbow, Abigail Massie and Sian Phelps.

The Year 11 squad started well, winning their first game against The Regis 9-2. Against Felpham, they won 12-1.

Against CHSG, Lavant trailed 5-2 at half-time but battled back for a well-deserved 5-5 draw.

Next up, Bishop Luffa proved an excellent team and beat Lavant House 5-3.

Lavant House won their final match against St Phillip Howard 12-0, meaning they finished third out of six schools.

The Year 11 team comprised Emma Ponsford (captain), Camilla Langmead, Maddie Leaver, Emily Oliver, Tilly Pickles, Becki Martin, Jemma Swan and Georgie Osborn.
