Bognor Tennis Club’s second team have gained promotion at the end of a hard-fought campaign.
Team captain Leighton Bailey, who also coaches at the club, managed the team in addition to captaining the club’s first team and his hard work paid off with the help of club players who made themselves available to fulfil the fixtures and achieve the success.
Nick West has taken on the captaincy for the winter season, leaving Bailey to focus on the first team.
The club continue to grow with new members, increased coaching provision and floodlighting for three more courts installed ready for the dark evenings ahead.
They now have five floodlit courts and any potential new members are welcome to call into a club session on Tuesday and Friday mornings from 9.30am to midday or Saturday afternoons from 1.30 - bring your racquet.
In addition to three men’s teams and two ladies’ teams there is a very strong social scene and recreational tennis which encourages players of all ages and abilities
