The feature race of the day is the £9,700 Attheraces Handicap Chase (3.15pm). Sussex trainer Gary Moore looks to hold leading claims courtesy of Beat The Judge. The five-year-old has taken well to chasing and was a smooth winner at Newton Abbot last time out. He has to shoulder top-weight here, but is of interest.

He beat the Paul Nicholls-trained Ashutor on that occasion who has since advertised the form with a facile 13-length win at Stratford on soft ground earlier this month. He makes a quick reappearance here and also has a pull at the weights with Beat The Judge.

However, Monsieur D’Arque could be the one they both have to beat. He was an easy eight-length winner at Market Rasen in July on his return from a break and if in the same form, he could be very hard to beat for a trainer in Dan Skelton who is currently operating at a 27% strike-rate in the last two weeks.

Master Work is a former course and distance winner and makes his return to action having finished fourth in a competitive event at Warwick in January. This ground looks sure to suit and he boasts some smart form in his back catalogue for Philip Hobbs. The five runners are completed by I’dliketheoption for Jonjo O’Neill who has won four of his 21 starts over fences and has undergone wind surgery since finishing ninth at Newbury in December 2019.

Sussex handler Moore also has two live chances in the £4,300 Sky Sports Racing Sky 415 Handicap Hurdle at 12.35pm. Seaborn dotted up 13 lengths at Stratford on his latest start and bids to defy a 13lb rise in the weights, whilst Fume was a neck second on his latest start at Fontwell and despite a 3lb rise, he should appreciate the drop back in trip to an two miles and one furlong here.

Dorset handler Colin Tizzard has his team in scintillating form with two winners from his last seven runners, a sizzling 29% strike-rate. Never Learn bids to improve that record in the £6,100 Follow At The Races On Twitter Handicap Chase (2.15pm). Successful on his latest start at Taunton, he also boasts course and distance winning form at Fontwell and makes plenty of appeal.

The concluding £4,300 Attheraces Standard Open National Hunt Flat Race (3.50pm) is another race of interest and features Surf Walk for the master of Seven Barrows Nicky Henderson. The five-year-old cost €50,000 and has undergone wind surgery since finishing fifth in a bumper on the All-Weather at Wolverhampton in February. The switch to turf is bound to suit and he is one to monitor.
