Pagham and Chichester bowlers back on the green
Pagham Bowls Club’s season opened on Saturday when members played an internal match, Captain v President.
The final result was a 20 shot win for the president’s team.
During the shutdown the clubhouse has been upgraded and the club hope to officially open it later in the summer once they can use the facilities again.
They aim to run a come-and-try-bowls morning at the end of May to tie in with a Bowls England national promotion over the bank holiday weekend.
They have a dedicated team of coaches, mentors and advisers and offer a good opportunity for those who wish to return to or try bowls.
They cater for players aged from ten to 90 of all abilities and are keen to see new faces at Swansea Gardens in the near future.
They have equipment people can borrow.
On May 17 the club hope to the next stage out of lockdown. Meantime, club afternoons on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays will cater for 24 at a time.
