Pagham won the toss and had no hesitation in asking hosts Haywards Heath to bat on a slightly damp wicket in their Sussex League division-three clash.
The home side were soon in trouble against the pace of Pete Cotterill (3-30) and Nabid Rehman (2-29) and found themselves 17 for four.
Wickets continued to fall and at 90 for nine it looked like Pagham would have an early journey home. However Joel Newsome (37no) and Matt Jones (23no) put on an unbeaten 55 for the last wicket with Haywards Heath finishing on a more respectable score of 145 for nine.
Wayne Green (2-40) and Thomas Kent (2-15) were the other Pagham wicket-takers.
In reply Pagham made a solid start with openers Stuart Rutter (34) and Justin Scott (32) putting on 56. Although both openers went in quick succession, Jo Metz (42no) and Nilushan Nonis (29no) saw Pagham home to a comfortable eight-wicket win which keeps them second.
