Bognor teenager tipped for big future in rugby

Emerging rugby talent Andrew Fadera is continuing to make his mark in the game – and has just been snapped up as one of the new members of the Trailfinders Rugby Academy with Brunel University, London.

Fadera, who is from Elmer and a former member of Bognor RFC Colts Academy, has been tipped to have a “fantastic future” in the sport by Team Brunel head of recruitment Alex Shaw.

The promising youngster is a former Harlequins Academy back-rower has joined the set-up from Hurstpierpoint College, West Sussex. Now he faces a new challenge.

And Shaw says he is pleased to be bringing in further talent to the programme, with this particular new recruit showing he has all of the requisite skills to flourish.

He said: “Andrew is a very strong ball carrier who has great skills on the ball.

“His handling is extremely impressive and with his physicality he can have a fantastic future.”

Fadera’s grandmother, Penny Hutchinson, says the entire family are proud of his achievements.

Penny, who works at Robins Row insurance brokers in Bognor, added: “Andrew’s a real star in our eyes and we’re so, so pleased that he is continuing to take progress in a sport he has loved since he was small.”
