International flavour as rugby youngsters flock to Chichester

An amazing 1,500 people flocked to Chichester High School for Boys for the third international mini-rugby festival.

The event is part of an annual tour involving young rugby players across the UK. Awful weather didn’t dampen the CHSB boy’s spirits, who continued to play quality rugby.

In all 36 teams took part, including one Year 7 team from CHSB. The weekend was declared a great success by those who took part and the many others who came along to watch.

Organiser Jamie McKimm of AcumenEdge Ltd explained why Chichester was a great place for hosting such an event.

“Last year went really well – the south coast provides easy access, plenty of options for accommodation and great amenities for all the teams and their families,” he said.

Staff at the high school ensured the site was ready for a huge number of visitors and were very pleased with how it went.

The CHSB squad played in their new kit sponsored by local solicitors Owen Kenny.

Tracey Waller, business and enterprise co-ordinator for CHSB, said: “It was a pleasure to see the school grounds used to their maximum capacity. The under-12 boys played extremely well and despite the weather everyone enjoyed the extra facilities laid on by IMRS.

“We look forward to welcoming the International Rugby Mini Series back to CHSB during 2013.”
