International rugby comes to Chichester - and so do 2,500 people

The event was part of an annual tour involving young rugby players across the UK and it saw quality rugby played in glorious sunshine.

Camping on the school fields enabled families to make the most of the weekend. Clubs came in fancy dress and horns were blown to let everyone know the event was well and truly open.

In all, 52 teams took part, including one Year 7 team from CHSB.

The weekend was declared a great success by those who took part and many others who went along to watch the action.

Organiser Jamie McKimm of AcumenEdge Ltd explained why Chichester was a great place for hosting such an event.

“Last year went really well – the south coast provides easy access, plenty of options for accommodation and great amenities for all the teams and their families,” he said.

Staff at the school ensured the site was ready for its huge number of visitors and were very pleased with how it went.

Tracey Waller, business and enterprise co-ordinator for CHSB, said: “It was a pleasure to see the school grounds used to their maximum capacity.

“The under-12 boys played extremely well in a new kit especially designed for the day. We look forward to welcoming the international rugby mini series back to CHSB in 2012.”
