Oakwood prove the perfect rugby hosts - while festival gets a successful tag

Oakwood School hosted a very successful under-11 rugby sevens tournament with eight schools attending and more than 100 rugby players participating.

Some brilliant fast-flowing rugby was on show and staff were amazed with the standard of tries scored.

Congratulations go to Oakwood A, who won the cup in a close final against Westbourne House following hard-fought semi-finals with Great Ballard and Mayville.

Well done also to Churcher’s College Junior School, who won the plate after beating Broadwater Manor in the final.

Alton Convent, Ryde Junior School and Sompting Abbots also played very well.

Meanwhile, Bognor RFC hosted the annual Year 5/6 mixed tag rugby festival. Six primary schools together sent around 80 budding players out for a fun-filled afternoon.

They took part in a series of rugby practices and mini games, allowing them to learn the game of tag rugby before playing matches.
