Team captain Daniel Pound (pictured) said: “We’ve been going really well this season after winning promotion last year. There’s a good blend in this team.

“The two freshers Richard Pelc and Tom Beales have definitely brought something to the team. Hopefully we can keep things up in the league in the new year. We were runners-up in the cup in 2015-16 so we’d like to do well in that again too.”

The men’s table tennis team comprises Pound, Josh Green, Beales, Pelc, Oliver Hicks, Ant McCormack and Nathan Hack.

In other midweek fixtures, Chichester women’s rugby and women’s football first teams recorded wins over Kings College London and Herfordshire respectively.
