What a good State to be in - CHSB too strong for Hove Park

CHICHESTER High School for Boys' Year 9 cricket team beat Hove Park in a State Cup tie.

Hove set a short boundary and their bowling attack allowed Jay Hartard and Ryan Dawtrey to take advantage.

They quickly took the total to 50 and then 100 within 12 overs. Hartard secured his century from 65 balls, ably supported by Dawtrey.

Dawtrey was caught but Hartard went on to finish 140 not out and Tickle came in to help the team along to 184 for one.

A few loose overs from Dawtrey and Lewry saw Hove race off to a good start.

But Dawtrey tightened up, Hartard rallied, Ticknell bowled some good spin and Lewry came back for another spell and bowled superbly to end any threat.

Hove finished on 134 for six and CHSB move into the second round against either St Bedes or Hurst.
