The team, overseen by club coach Peter Cook, comprised Tom Baily, George Haig, Diego Savage-Melendez and Arran Goode.

This team event was run using a round-robin format for the six teams, Chichester Racquets and Fitness Club, Pavilion & Avenue Tennis Club, Bognor LTC, West Worthing Tennis Club, David Lloyd Worthing and Angmering-on-Sea Tennis Club.

Each match, played first to ten points, comprised four singles followed by the reverse singles and finally two doubles matches – so a match against each club was ten rubbers in total, equalling the sum of 50 matches for the youngsters.

Cook said: “We defeated every club in this competition, which is an incredible achievement. I am extremely proud of all our players, who have trained so hard and played with tremendous heart to win this event.”
