The comedy series is organised by Carly Smallman and Alyssa Kyria.

They have been playing the Komedia in Brighton for the past two years and had scheduled to take the event to Crawley in May – which will be put back now until the crisis is over.

But in the meantime, they are going online.

Carly said: “We will be live on YouTube and our Facebook page every Thursday at 8.30pm.

“The world has gone mad – it’s either laugh or cry – so let’s laugh! We have got together the best comics in the UK – most of which are parents on lockdown too – to bring parents some much needed giggles. We want to help everyone to realise that they aren’t alone. We are all going through this together!”

Alyssa and Carly are both huge advocates for mental health, having had personal experience with depression and anxiety themselves, and they want to spread some joy during this scary time.

“The show is going to be interactive, getting everyone involved, as well as bringing the parents some awesome comedy with a brand-new line up every week.

“The show can be accessed on free YouTube or Facebook with an option to make a donation if desired.

“These shows will be streamed at 8.30pm, so parents with children of all ages can tune in after the kids have gone to bed.

“All shows will be streamed live, which means that they will be fully interactive. Each episode will include live comments, shout-outs, and stories from our captive audience of parents on lockdown.

“Every week we will feature a brand-new line up of comics including the best parenting comedians in the UK.”

MC is Carly, who is currently on lockdown with her entire family, including her one-year-old and 12-year-old nieces, Lula and Chaya.

“Our mum reporting regularly from the front line during this lockdown is Alyssa Kyria (aka The Funny Mummy), who is at home with her five-year-old diva Lola.”

Carly and Alyssa set up BYOB Comedy in 2015, following Alyssa’s own experience with post-natal depression.
