Southampton’s Mayflower Theatre cancels entire panto run
Southampton’s Mayflower Theatre has cancelled its pantomime run.
The indisposition of cast members and “the news of increased transmissibility of coronavirus in the south” are among the reasons.
All planned performances have now been pulled – following the cancellation yesterday of Monday’s two performances.
In a statement the Mayflower said: “Due to the indisposition of cast members from Sleeping Beauty, the nature of the socially distanced production, and the news of increased transmissibility of coronavirus in the south, Qdos Pantomimes and Mayflower Theatre have made the difficult decision to cancel all remaining performances of Sleeping Beauty.
“All customers affected by the cancelled shows will be offered a full refund.
“We would ask customers not to call the box office, we will be in touch with all customers in due course.
“On behalf of Qdos Pantomimes and Mayflower Theatre we are incredibly sorry for the disappointment this will have caused.
“All of us at Mayflower Theatre and Qdos Pantomimes are hugely disappointed not to be able to share Sleeping Beauty with you and thank you for supporting our attempt to re-open the Theatre for the Christmas season.”
