Featuring an impressive cast and a large live orchestra with more than 30 musicians, the Russian State Ballet and Opera House will burst on to the stage again with another magical season of classical ballet.
They play Southsea’s Kings Theatre on Sunday, November 16 at 7.30pm when they will offer enduring Christmas favourite The Nutcracker.
Producer Alexej Ignatow said: “We feel that everyone should have the opportunity to enjoy ballet in their lifetime which is why we are dedicated to presenting full and positive new productions in regional theatres.
“We want to give the opportunity to local audiences to experience these classics, give them great pleasure and inspire them to want more.
“There is a misconception that you need to understand music or ballet to enjoy them, but it is really for everyone. All these incredible performances are self-explanatory and you could be assured of falling in love with ballet.”
“The company will bring with them all the colour, enthusiasm and vibrancy that one would expect. It has earned high praise for its past ballet and opera performances, and the audience is bound to be drawn in and immersed in the atmosphere that these productions radiate – an unmissable treat for the whole family.”
