LOVERS of choral music are in for a treat this weekend when a leading Dutch choir visits the Chichester area for a series of concerts.
The Kielzog Cathedral Choir, from the north of the Netherlands, will be performing works by Mendelssohn, and Haydn, as well as many English composers during their visit.
The choir, with its mix of boys, female and youth singers, will give their first performance at Arundel Cathedral on Saturday, October 19, at 1pm.
On Sunday, October 20, they will be performing at Boxgrove Priory at 12.30pm after the morning service before heading to Chichester Cathedral to perform after Evensong. On Monday, October 21, the choir will perform at 10am at Bosham Church before leaving the area for Winchester.
“We are hoping many people will come along to enjoy our performances,” said conductor Wim Van De Laar. “This is our second visit to England having performed last time in Cambridge, Norwich and in Ely Cathedral. Everyone is very excited at the opportunity of singing in such wonderful and historic places of worship.”
