Portsmouth actor Gavin Fowler appears opposite French diva Jeanne Balibar in the British independent film Delight now screening as part of the studio season at the New Park Cinema in Chichester on December 1 and 2.
The movie was nominated last year for best film at the Moscow International Film Festival.
Spokeswoman Fiona Howe said: “Gavin, who trained at RADA, scored the role of bad-boy lover Zac against dozens of hopefuls. Ahead of the film shoot, he took himself off to the mid-Wales village location to get into character, living rough in a tree house, fishing and cooking over an open fire.”
Gavin has previously played at Chichester Festival Theatre, and this year received a commendation from the Ian Charleson Theatre Awards for his role as Puck in Michael Grandage’s West End production of A Midsummer Night’s Dream. He recently appeared on Sky TV in Penny Dreadful. Delight is his first feature film.
Delight, directed by Gareth Jones, tells the story of a female war photographer who comes to terms with her buried trauma through a relationship with the son of a former lover and comrade-in-arms.
It features Jeanne Balibar (Grace of Monaco, Va Savoir, The Duchess of Langeais) in her first leading role in a British film. Tickets: www.chichestercinema.org/film/delight.
