Chichester and District Society of Model Engineers open afternoon

Chichester and District Society of Model Engineers will host the final Steam on Sunday open afternoon of the summer season on Sunday (September 16).

The open afternoon will be open from 2pm to 5pm at the society’s site in Blackberry Lane, off Bognor Road, Chichester.

The new 00 gauge model railway, Blackberry Junction, will be in use.

It has three circuits of track, each with its own controller and a donations box.

Visitors will be encouraged to bring in, and run, their own 00 locomotives for testing and diagnosis.

Knowledgeable staff will be on hand to answer questions.

Miniature passenger-carrying trains, with a selection of different steam and diesel powered locomotives, will also be running.

Admission to the site is free, tickets for rides on the trains will be £1 each, for adults or children.

Light refreshments will be on sale.
