MUSIC: Acclaimed guitar master returns to her roots

West Sussex Guitar Club is delighted to welcome back to its stage at the Recital Hall, Bognor Regis, one of its favourite performers, Bognor's Amanda Cook.

Amanda is one of the leading guitarists of her generation. She has performed and given masterclasses in the USA, South America and throughout Europe. She has performed across the UK, including at the South Bank and Wigmore Hall.

Amanda began her musical career at the age of seven as a pupil of the Club's artistic director Alexander Levtov. While at the Royal College of Music, Amanda won several prizes for her performances. Outside college she won the 1995 Admira Young Guitarist of the Year, 1997 Ivor Mairants Guitar Award and the 1998 Carol Evershed Martin Award for solo instrumentalists.

Her most recent venture is with the guitar trio Appassionata. She is a patron of the Federation of Guitar Societies and a life member of the West Sussex Guitar Club.

Amanda's concert will be on Saturday, September 26 at 7.30pm at the Regis Recital Hall, 46 Sudley Road, Bognor Regis.
