Theatre star Ade Edmondson can stand the heat

In this year’s final, screened on Friday, September 6, Edmondson triumphed despite stiff competition from actor Les Dennis and journalist Janet Street-Porter.

His three-course meal of venison with celeriac and lambs lettuce, seabass stuffed with scallop mousse, and strawberries in a caramel syrup with shortbread and a raspberry sorbet wowed judges Gregg Wallace and John Torode.

Maintaining his busy work ethic outside the kitchen, Edmondson is immersed in final rehearsals for Neville’s Island at Theatre in the Park, Chichester, which starts on Wednesday, September 11.

Leading the cast alongside Rufus Hound, Edmondson plays Gordon in a dark comedy about a disastrous outward bound team-building exercise.
